Description
It is a cheese made from sheep and goat milk, pressed on goat or sheep overalls, kept in caves for two or three months, and then matured. Currently, this method has been partly abandoned with the advancement of technology and started to mature by keeping it in cold storage. Erzincan Tulum Cheese produced from raw milk should be matured for at least 120 days.
Seel Food Company produces Erzincan Tulum Cheese from mostly sheep and less goat milk obtained from the Munzur plateau, rich in endemic species. It is offered for sale under the brand of “Seel Munzur Plateau Erzincan Tulum Cheese” with the name of the region where it is produced.
Erzincan Tulum Cheese is widely used in cooking. It adds flavor to meals, salads, and appetizers with its oily consistency.
